On a small dog the margin is tiny: a few extra biscuits a day is a real percentage of her intake, and the weight arrives without anyone noticing. Fat here is cut to 10% while protein stays at 29%.
L-carnitine at 50 mg/kg helps her use fat for energy rather than storing it, and protein is held high so she loses fat rather than muscle — a dog slimming on a low-protein food ends up with a slower metabolism and puts it back on faster. Glucosamine at 490 mg/kg supports joints that have been carrying more than they should, and the 3D DentaDefense kibble does its usual work on tartar.

Looking after it
Store in a cool, dry place, sealed. Use within six weeks of opening. Weigh her food on a scale rather than scooping, and weigh **her** monthly — aim for slow loss, around 1–2% of body weight a week. Everyone in the house has to be on side; a diet undone by one person's biltong is a diet that fails. Treats come out of the daily ration, not on top.
