The terms that apply when you order or book with us.
Last updated 24 August 2026.
This site is operated by De Pet Valley (Pty) Ltd (“De Pet Valley”, “we”, “us”), a pet shop and mobile pet-care business based at The Yard B1, The Main Blvd, Val De Vie Winelands Lifestyle Estate, 7646. These terms apply every time you order goods or book a service from us. By placing an order you agree to them, so please read them — they are written to be read.
Nothing here takes away the rights the Consumer Protection Act and other South African law give you. Where a term here and the law disagree, the law wins.
When you place an order you are making us an offer to buy. Your order is accepted, and a contract formed, only once we have confirmed your payment — not when you click “place order”. We may decline or cancel an order before then, for example if an item is out of stock, a price was clearly wrong, or we cannot deliver to your address. If we cancel after you have paid, you get a full refund.
You need to give us accurate contact and delivery details. We are not responsible for a delivery that fails because the address or phone number you gave was wrong.
Prices are in South African Rand and are the price you pay — we do not add VAT at the till. We may change prices at any time, but a change never affects an order we have already accepted.
Payment is taken through PayFast, which handles card, Instant EFT and SnapScan on its own secure page. We never see or store your card number. If you save a card for a repeat box, PayFast keeps it and gives us a token that only works to charge your own orders. Some orders are settled by ordinary EFT into our account and marked paid by hand once the transfer clears.
Every price the checkout shows — the total, any delivery fee, any discount or cash back — is recomputed on our server from our own records before you are charged, so a tampered basket cannot change what you pay.
Where we deliver, what it costs and how quickly it arrives is set out in full on our delivery page, and the checkout shows the exact day and fee for your postal code before you pay. We deliver Monday to Friday; risk in the goods passes to you when they are delivered to the address you gave.
Our grooming, pet-sitting and dog-walking services are mobile — we come to you in Paarl. You pay for the visits when you book, and then choose and confirm the times afterwards in your account; buying the bundle creates a prepaid entitlement, it does not by itself fix a date. Unless stated otherwise on the service, prepaid visits are valid for twelve months from purchase.
We confirm each visit with you before we come. If we ever cannot carry out a visit you have paid for, you can rebook it or we refund the unused visits by EFT.
You can set an item to arrive again on a schedule. The first box ships with your order; after that each box is charged shortly before it is due — you are told when — and you can change, skip or cancel it any time before that charge, from your account, with no phone call needed.
Loyalty cash back is credit towards future orders: R1 of cash back is worth R1 off, it is not exchangeable for actual cash, and each amount is valid for twelve months from the day it is earned. New verified accounts start with a welcome amount, writing a review earns a little more whatever rating you give, and repeat boxes earn extra on top of your tier.
Our referral offer gives a friend money off their first order and rewards you in cash back when they order. Rewards and cash back are for genuine use; we may withhold or reverse them where an account, an order or a referral is not genuine — for instance self-referral or orders placed only to earn a reward.
Keep your account details accurate and your password to yourself — you are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has access to it. We may suspend or close an account that is used for fraud or abuse.
When you can return something, what is excluded, and how a refund reaches you are set out on our refunds & returns page. In short: we honour your CPA rights on faulty, incorrect or undelivered goods, and refunds are paid by EFT.
We supply goods and carry out services with reasonable care and skill, and we stand behind the quality of what we sell. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss — for example loss that could not reasonably have been expected from the problem.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including your rights under the Consumer Protection Act and our responsibility for death or injury caused by our negligence.
We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to an order is the one published when you place it. When we make a material change we will date it at the top of this page.
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa, and the South African courts have jurisdiction over any dispute. The Consumer Protection Act applies to your dealings with us.
