Periodontal disease affects most dogs by the age of three, and almost nobody catches it early because nobody enjoys inspecting a dog's back teeth.
This food does the work instead. The kibble is engineered larger, with a fibre matrix — around 10% crude fibre, mostly cellulose and pea bran — that holds its shape as the tooth sinks in rather than shattering on contact. The tooth is wiped clean as he chews, which is a genuinely different mechanism from a dental chew given once a day. High-quality protein supports lean muscle, omega-6 and vitamin E look after skin and coat, and dried whole egg adds a highly digestible protein source. It slows what's coming; it won't reverse tartar that's already there — that needs a vet.

Looking after it
Store in a cool, dry place, sealed. Use within six weeks of opening. **Don't soak or break up the kibble** — the size and structure are the active mechanism, and softening it removes the benefit entirely. If his breath has already turned, or the gums are red at the tooth line, book a dental check; this prevents, it doesn't cure. Fresh water, always.
