L-carnitine from eight weeks, for a heart that needs watching.
Boxers have one of the highest rates of heart disease of any breed — arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy is so associated with them it's often just called Boxer cardiomyopathy. Support for it starts in puppyhood, not at eight.
L-carnitine at 400 mg/kg is here from eight weeks, because cardiac muscle depends on it to metabolise fat for energy. Fat is held to 18% for controlled growth, with glucosamine and chondroitin for joints and betaglucans and prebiotics on the immune and digestive side. The kibble is adapted for a short, broad brachycephalic jaw — a Boxer's bite is undershot and she cannot grip a standard large-breed biscuit cleanly. She moves onto Boxer Adult at sixteen months.
Dehydrated poultry protein, maize, rice, animal fats, vegetable protein isolate (L.I.P. — protein selected for its very high digestibility), maize flour, hydrolysed animal proteins, wheat flour, dehydrated pork protein, beet pulp, minerals, fish oil, copra oil, vegetable fibres, soya oil, fructo-oligo-saccharides (0.34%), psyllium husks and seeds, hydrolysed yeast (source of manno-oligo-saccharides), hydrolysed crustaceans (source of glucosamine), yeast extracts (source of betaglucans), marigold extract (source of lutein), hydrolysed cartilage (source of chondroitin). Additives (per kg) — Nutritional additives: Vitamin A 29,500 IU · Vitamin D3 800 IU · Vitamin E 590 mg · E1 (Iron) 40 mg · E2 (Iodine) 4 mg · E4 (Copper) 12 mg · E5 (Manganese) 52 mg · E6 (Zinc) 133 mg · E8 (Selenium) 0.09 mg · L-carnitine 400 mg. Technological additives: Clinoptilolite of sedimentary origin 10 g. Sensory additives: Yucca extract 125 mg. Preservatives. Antioxidants.
Store in a cool, dry place, sealed. Use within six weeks. Don't over-exercise her while she's growing — Boxer puppies have no off switch and will run themselves into joint damage if allowed. Keep her out of the midday heat; the shortened muzzle means she cools herself poorly. Ask your vet about cardiac screening for the breed, and mention any fainting or collapse immediately.
