Taurine for the heart, glucosamine for the hips. Both matter here.
Giant breeds have two problems that shorten their lives, and both are worth feeding for. The joints carry an extraordinary load. And dilated cardiomyopathy — an enlarged, weakened heart — runs high in Danes, Dobermanns and Mastiffs, with taurine among the few nutrients shown to matter.
So there's taurine at 2 g/kg here alongside glucosamine and chondroitin for cartilage. Fat runs at 20% and protein at 28%, high enough to hold condition on a very large frame — a giant dog eating 500 g a day is easy to under-feed if you go by volume rather than weight. Crude ash is low at 5.3%. For dogs over eighteen to twenty-four months with an adult weight above 45 kg.
Dehydrated poultry protein, maize, maize flour, animal fats, wheat, rice, hydrolysed animal proteins, maize gluten, beet pulp, vegetable protein isolate (L.I.P. — protein selected for its very high digestibility), fish oil, minerals, vegetable fibres, soya oil, yeasts and parts thereof, borage oil, hydrolysed crustaceans (source of glucosamine), marigold extract (source of lutein), hydrolysed cartilage (source of chondroitin). Additives (per kg) — Nutritional additives: Vitamin A 21,500 IU · Vitamin D3 1,000 IU · E1 (Iron) 42 mg · E2 (Iodine) 4.2 mg · E4 (Copper) 13 mg · E5 (Manganese) 55 mg · E6 (Zinc) 133 mg · E8 (Selenium) 0.09 mg · Taurine 2 g. Preservatives. Antioxidants.
Store in a cool, dry place, sealed. Use within six weeks; decant the 15 kg. Keep her lean — on a 70 kg dog even a few extra kilos is real load on hips. Learn the signs of bloat and treat them as an emergency: a swollen hard belly, retching without bringing anything up, pacing and distress. In a giant deep-chested dog it can kill within hours, and knowing your nearest after-hours vet before you need them is worth doing.

A guide, not a rule. Split across two or three meals — never one. Don't feed within an hour either side of exercise. Fresh water, always, though not a bucketful immediately after a meal.
