A 40 kg dog puts roughly twice the load through each joint that a 20 kg dog does, on the same walk, every day for years. Large breeds also have shorter lives and reach middle age at five rather than eight. Both facts shape this food.
Glucosamine and chondroitin support cartilage, and omega-3 at 7.8 g/kg — of which 4 g/kg is EPA and DHA — is the part with real evidence behind it for joint comfort. Protein at 26% and fat at 17% hold condition on a large frame without adding weight the joints then have to carry. Highly digestible proteins matter more here than they sound: large breeds have proportionally smaller digestive tracts for their body size and are more prone to loose stools than small dogs. For dogs from fifteen months to five years, 26–44 kg.

Store in a cool, dry place, sealed. Use within six weeks of opening; decant the 15 kg. Keep her lean — every kilo she doesn't carry is load off hips that will thank you at eight. Learn the signs of bloat (a swollen hard belly, unproductive retching, restlessness) and treat it as an emergency; in a large deep-chested dog it kills within hours.
