Seven, and the stiffness after a long sleep is new.
Seven is when a medium dog starts giving small signs — a pause at the bottom of the stairs, a longer stretch getting up, a bit less enthusiasm on the second half of the walk. None of it is dramatic and most of it is joints.
EPA and DHA here run at 4 g/kg, up from 3.1 in the adult food, and that's the ingredient with real evidence behind it for joint comfort in older dogs. Tea polyphenols at 150 mg/kg and lutein carry the antioxidant load against cellular ageing, borage oil supports skin that's thinning, and psyllium keeps a slower gut moving. Crude ash comes down to 5.2% to ease the mineral load. Protein stays at 25% — cutting protein in an old dog costs her muscle, which is the last thing she can spare. For dogs seven and over, 11–25 kg.

Store in a cool, dry place, sealed. Use within six weeks of opening. Shorter, more frequent walks suit her better than one long one, and a non-slip mat on tiled floors makes a real difference to a dog with sore hips. Yearly bloods and a dental check from seven. If she's slowing down noticeably rather than gradually, that's a vet visit — it isn't always just age.
