Most dogs in South Africa are somewhere in this bracket — a spaniel, a staffie cross, whatever the shelter called a labrador. They're not managing a condition and they're not a breed with a quirk. They just need feeding properly for six years, and this is the food that does it.

Protein at 25% and fat at 14% is an unfussy everyday balance for a dog with a garden and a daily walk. Omega-3 fatty acids at 6.1 g/kg, of which 3.1 g/kg is EPA and DHA, keep skin and coat in condition — this is the range's highest total omega-3 outside the senior foods. Manno-oligo-saccharides support the gut. Kibble is sized for a medium jaw, which sounds obvious until you've watched a spaniel try to eat something designed for a Chihuahua. For dogs from one to seven years, 11–25 kg.

Looking after it

Store in a cool, dry place, sealed. Use within six weeks of opening; decant the 15 kg rather than leaving the bag open, or the fat oxidises and she'll go off it. Feel her ribs monthly — you want to find them easily under a thin covering. Don't feed her immediately before or after hard exercise. Fresh water, always.
