Ten is old for a medium dog. Soft food helps more than you'd think.
Appetite drops in an old dog, and it's usually mechanical rather than mysterious — worn or painful teeth, a fading sense of smell, and less inclination to work at a bowl of hard biscuits. A soft, strongly scented pouch solves most of that at once.
EPA and DHA at 0.12% support joints and cognitive function. At 80.5% moisture it also raises water intake, which matters as kidneys age. Feed alone or alongside dry.

Refrigerate any opened pouch and use within 24 hours. Serve at room temperature rather than straight from the fridge — cold wet food smells of almost nothing and gets refused. If she's on wet food only, give her something to chew or clean her teeth, because wet food does no mechanical work on them. Warm it slightly; an ageing nose needs the help. A dog eating only wet food because chewing hurts needs her mouth looked at, not just a softer diet.

A guide, not a rule. Two or three smaller meals suit an old dog better than two large ones. Serve at room temperature. Fresh water, always.
