A medium dog with an unreliable gut usually isn't ill — she's a scavenger, or she's stressed, or her gut just runs sensitive. What you get is a soft stool most days, a bad one after anything unusual, and a lot of wind.
Highly digestible L.I.P. proteins, barley, beet pulp and manno-oligo-saccharides do the work: more of the food is absorbed, so less arrives at the far end. Fat at 18% and protein at 25% keep it moderate rather than rich, which suits a gut that doesn't handle heavy food, and borage oil supports the coat, which often looks poor in a dog who isn't absorbing properly. The mixed-feeding column below is genuinely useful here — a little wet food raises water intake and often improves stool consistency further.
Rice, dehydrated poultry protein, wheat flour, animal fats, wheat, maize gluten, vegetable protein isolate (L.I.P. — protein selected for its very high digestibility), barley, hydrolysed animal proteins, beet pulp, soya oil, minerals, fish oil, vegetable fibres, fructo-oligo-saccharides, hydrolysed yeast (source of manno-oligo-saccharides), borage oil, marigold extract (source of lutein). Store in a cool, dry place, sealed. Use within six weeks of opening. Change her over across a full week. Nothing else in the bowl for a fortnight while you assess it. If she's a scavenger, the food can only do so much — a basket muzzle on walks is not cruel and saves a great deal of trouble. Blood, weight loss or repeated vomiting means a vet, not a different bag.
